Dr. Larry L. Hensel has been a Teaching Member of ATI since 2007. He taught semester-long Introductory Classes in the Alexander Technique for Performing Artists at the University of Wyoming for five years before retiring from academia in 2016. Hensel shares his enthusiasm and expertise for Alexander Technique in workshops and clinics throughout the US, including the National Puppetry Festival in 2017 (St. Paul, MN), the Colorado Chapter of MTNA, University of Michigan School of Music—Collaborative Artist Program, NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human development—Workshop for Singers and Collaborative Pianists, and Wyoming NAfME. Although he is based in Laramie, Wyoming, most of his Alexander work is done through extensive travel throughout the US., and he enthusiastically welcomes inquiries for masterclasses and residencies. He has particular expertise in working with puppetry artists, musicians of all instruments, conductors, opera singers, all types of theatrical artists (including technical theatre), dancers, and visual artists. Dr. Hensel has also done numerous workshops on Body Mapping and Breathing Techniques for the Performing Artist.
