- Abzac, France
Professional dancer and Yoga teacher for 20 years, in 1987 Gilles began training as an Alexander Technique teacher in Paris with MF Le Foll and in the United States with F. Ottiwell, B. and M. Fertman and T. Thompson. Since 1990, he currently teaches dancers, actors, singers and since 1997 has run a Teacher Training course in Paris and Bordeaux. By this time, he has been deeply inspired by David Gorman’s teaching. He has taught Contact Improvisation since 1990 and took up tango in 2000.
Using a pedagogical approach centered on Touch and the relation of the individual to himself, others and the wider environment, Gilles leads his students towards a deeper state of Being where balance and poise become a function of intelligence.
Whilst Alexander’s principles have become his essential pedagogical support, giving him in-depth understanding of human movement, his continued explorations of movement within the field of CI, and now Watsu, constantly nourish the creative nature of his work.
